Tom Lowe’s TimeScapes 4K Trailer Released

If you are a film enthusiast you already know Tom Lowe because of his time lapse films of nature. The trailer for his new film TimeScapes  has just been released.

Tom spends more time out of doors camping and shooting time lapse film than most people spend indoors tucked into their beds at night. I have done some time lapse at night, both with my Monument Valley and Grand Canyon films and I must tell you that it is not easy. It takes one hour to get 5 seconds of footage, not including getting there and setting up. Since is is at night very often you are cold, and you have to sit there in the dark. You get to see sights that other people never get to see, that is until Tom Lowe’s new film. Vincent Laforet has written a great tribute to Lowe that explains in detail just what he has accomplished.

TimeScapes has been filmed in 4K which has four times the resolution of HD. Perfect for the big screen, but I think the only way to see 4K at home is on a 30″ computer monitor. If you have at 30″ monitor and a fast computer you really should download the 4K trailer. It is amazing. You can support his film by pre-ordering online at http://timescapes.org/pre_order.asp.  After watching it you will understand why someone on Twitter commented: ”God called. He’s pretty sure you stole his demo reel.”
