This spring I traveled again to Temple Texas to do another infomercial for Eagle Ridge Builders. Eagle Ridge doubled their business in the 12 months following the release of their new web site and customer testimonial video we did for them in the fall of 2011.
This time they had a different mission for me, to help educate their clients on the home buying process. Lots of folks shy away from custom built homes because the perceived cost and time it takes to build their dream home. Eagle Ridge has streamlined the whole process and felt that the best way to explain it is in a video. We used real customers and the Eagle Ridge staff to film it. We had 3 days to plan, write a script, coach the actors, and shoot 9 scenes that make up the short film. There was no budget or time to reshoot or redo anything so we had to get it right the first time, there was no going back to Texas.
On a technical basis I used my FS700/Canon 5D 2 camera setup for most shots. I used the Aviator Travel Jib rather than my Kessler Crane Pocket Jib that I used on their last shoot, to save weight and shipping costs. I only had time for minimal lighting. I used my Sanken CS3 shotgun for dialogue.
Check out the video and see if you think we accomplished our objectives.
